Mansukh Patel

Life Foundation International (LFI) founded by peace-maker Mansukh Patel. Organises walks for peace with the World Peace Flame and meetings for people who wish to come to peace, in many places world wide. For the first time in history the fire of the five continents has been united in the World Peace Flame, during the International Peace Conference 1999 in North Wales. The Dutch princess Irene brought the European fire to Wales. The World Peace Flame, in the mean time having its own monument near the Palace of Peace in The Hague in Holland, rather seems to be the symbol of an inner fire than of an outer fire. A smaller World Peace Flame is available: it has been enlightened from the World Peace Flame in Wales and will burn for nine days. “Improve the world and start with yourself” seems to be the motto of the LFI, organising meeting that encourage you to (re)connect to your inner light and to share. "Peace Pilgrim" 1908-1981

“Peace Pilgrim”

Peace Pilgrim (1908-1981). From 1953 to 1981 a silver haired woman calling herself “Peace Pilgrim” walked more than 25,000 miles on a personal pilgrimage for peace. She vowed to “remain a wanderer until mankind has learned the way of peace, walking until given shelter and fasting until given food.” In the course of her 28 year pilgrimage she touched the hearts, minds, and lives of thousands of individuals all across North America. Her message was both simple and profound. It continues to inspire people all over the world: “This is the way of peace: overcome evil with good, and falsehood with truth, and hatred with love. Peace Pilgrim said: “We who work for peace must not falter. We must continue to pray for peace and to act for peace in whatever way we can, we must continue to speak for peace and to live the way of peace; to inspire others, we must continue to think of peace and to know that peace is possible.”

World Peace is possible.com A new foundation, that hopes to bring world wide peace closer to everyone. The idea behind this action is mostly: if we boost about the fact that world wide peace is really possible, this will in fact bring us closer to peace.

Music in Me started as a non-governmental organization incorporated in the Netherlands in 2003. Three years later with the support of IMC/Unesco and the UNRWA. IMC is the International Music Council within UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation), a specialized agency of the United Nations established in 1945. Its stated purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through education, science, and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, the rule of law, and the human rights and fundamental freedoms proclaimed in the UN Charter. Music in Me is growing internationally within Europe and North America. The main goal in these countries is to raise awareness and funds to support the musical needs of individuals or groups in the Middle East. to whom music would otherwise be denied due to war, poverty and limited access to music education.
Making music together increases a feeling of brotherhood which also contributes to peace. Information on the organization, including its objectives and pilot projects adopted for the period 2004-2013, can be found on the website.
UNWRA is the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, a subsidiary organ of the United Nations. The Agency's chief officer, the Commissioner-General, is appointed by the UN Secretary-General after consultation with the Advisory Commission and is the only head of a United Nations body to report directly to the General Assembly. The Advisory Commission meets annually to review Agency activities. Its membership consists of Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, EC, Egypt, France, Germany , Italy, Japan, Jordan, , Lebanon, Netherlands, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.
